Welcome to our web site !

Although the band has been in existence for over 100 years, this site gives you an insight into the band, as it is today.

Please check the Engagements section regularly as this will give you a diary of our forthcoming events, as well as events already played. You will see it is a very full diary!

The Band

Christchurch and Highclffe Band is a traditional Brass Band playing a wide variety of music from both traditional and popular genres. We rehearse in Highcliffe see Find Us.

We have recently launched a Training Band (see article below) with the aim of both sharing our love of playing and ensuring our band remains strong well into the next century.

Our M.D. is  Lawrence Butchart and and following his coming to the band we have increased our repertoire so as not to play a set programme each engagement. This is much appreciated by both the band members and audiences!

Come and Join us

The Band is always looking for new players young and old to join in the enjoyment of creating music.

In May 2009 we launched a Training Band at an open evening at the Band rehearsal base.

Concert 16th April 2011

Come to see us at our next concert on Saturday 16th April 2012 at Pokesdown Salvation Army Hall,  at 7.30pm.

There will be a lively programme of music, from ‘High on a Hill’ to ‘The Great Escape’. Also there are pieces featuring some great solo performances.
